Maple Mashed Sweet Potatoes

- 1/3 cup Maple-flavored Or Pancake Syrup
- 1 tablespoon Butter Or Margarine
- 1 can (40 oz.) Sweet Potatoes, Drained
- 1/3 PLANTERS Pecan Pieces
PLACE syrup and butter in medium saucepan. Bring just to boil on medium heat. Reduce heat to low; simmer 2 minutes. ADD sweet potatoes; stir to coat. Cook 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. SPOON into serving dish; sprinkle with pecans.

Special Extra Add 1 tsp. grated orange peel with the sweet potatoes.
Safe Food Handling Have a separate serving utensil for each dish being served to prevent cross contamination. Do not let the food stand at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Refrigerate leftovers in small shallow containers labeled with the date. If you are expecting late guests,put together a plate for them and refrigerate until their arrival. Once they arrive and are ready to eat, reheat the plate in the microwave.
